Project Overview:
Kent Power successfully rerouted five transmission structures spanning active I-94 interstate lanes and Inkster Road in preparation for MDOT’s highway reconstruction near Detroit Metro Airport. Executed under a compressed schedule and multiple agency jurisdictions, the project was completed safely, on time, and without operational disruption.
Project Outcomes:
- Completed a five-structure reroute in less than eight weeks under a direct award contract.
- Navigated frost law restrictions, tight access corridors, and 15+ coordinated lane closures while maintaining full public and worker safety.
- Managed live highway work with daily lane setup/removal and mid-day maintenance operations.
- Coordinated closely with MDOT, FAA, and Detroit Metro Airport to satisfy strict crane, clearance, and timing requirements.
- Achieved zero incidents for Kent Power crews, subcontractors, and the public across all phases.
